IG Valentine’s Day Hop - Week 4 - 2024

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present my submission to week 4 of our IG Valentine’s Day Hop! Hop along with us as we spread the love until the end of February. DM @magymakes on IG if you’d like to join in!

Our theme this week is all about using stencils for our main design element. I hope you.

For this card, I was inspired by the Altenew Heart Builder Stencil set featured left. This is a geometric pattern stencil that you first apply color through the stencil, flip the stencil over, and then apply a different color. I chose to use Altnew Crisp inks in Ruby Red and Heart Beat to stay in the theme. I will admit, it did take me a couple of alignments to make sure I was doing it correctly but in the end I think it turned out fantastic.

The next step was to stamp on the sentiment. This was done using the Simon Says Stamp XL Greetings 2 stamp set and Crisp ink in Jet Black (Altenew is currently sold out). I aligned the paper in my Misti stamping tool, aligned the stamp, and then inked and stamped it a couple of times to ensure a clean image transfer.

The next step was to assemble. I used a rectangular die from Hero Arts and my Gemini die-cutting machine to cut the background panel down to its final dimensions. I then cut down a black mat for visual appeal. I then adhered the background panel to the mat with Bearly Art liquid glue and then the composite was adhered to a white card base with double-sided adhesive. Then for just a touch more dimension, I added some flat-backed Red Heart Drops from Kat Scrapiness that were adhered with liquid glue. With that, I called the card complete.
