Things With Wings: SSS Wednesday Challenge
Good day, fellow crafters. I'm thrilled to showcase my submission for this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which prompts us to create a design that features "Things With Wings". As soon as I heard about this theme, my thoughts were whisked away to the captivating world of fairies. With spring in full swing and its promise of revitalization and flourishing, what better way to celebrate than by crafting our very own mystical realms where fairies flutter among the blooms, invoking the enchantment and wonder that's so unique to the season? I sincerely hope you enjoy my creation.
To create this card I used Lindsay Magical Powders and water to create a watercolor and then produce this very lovely late-day sky during a particularly beautiful sunset effect. I really liked how the water and the powders interacted and the resultant shimmery surface shine left on the paper when it dried. I next used some stamps from a set of Globeleland stamps and some Black ink to create the fairy and flowers. I then mounted the completed background on a Black cardstock mat and finally on a pre-cut A2 Gray card base.
The sentiment was crafted from a piece of the same Gray as the background and stamped in Black ink using the Honey Bee stamps Bee Young: Blooms stamp and die set. Once cut I used some pop dots to give it some dimension.
