Rainbow: SSS Monday Challenge Entry #2
Good day, fellow crafters. May I present to you my second entry for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge? If you aren’t familiar with this challenge then be sure to follow the link below my entry for all of the rules and the inspiration pieces created by their team of designers. The inspiration for this week’s challenge is Rainbow. I hope you enjoy it.
To showcase rainbow colors in a non-traditional pattern, I decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Out to Sea stamp in a unique way. I covered the stamp with VersaMark embossing ink and stamped it onto white cardstock. Then, I applied white embossing powder and heat-set it to use as a resist. Next, I used Ranger's Distress Oxide in various rainbow hues to cover the image, starting with Lumberjack Plaid at the bottom and moving to Villainous Potion on the other side, while using a clipboard to mask the spray. The remaining colors included Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Prize Ribbon, and Rustic Wilderness. After the background was dry, I cut it to the desired size, matted it with black cardstock, and adhered it to a pre-cut A2 Red card base.
For the sentiment, I used the Gina K Be the Rainbow stamp set and Nocturne Black ink. I had to stamp it three times but it still wasn't dark enough, so I added Brutus Monroe's Raven embossing powder and heat-set it. Finally, I added a flat-backed Clear Droplet from Kat Scrappiness for added dimension.
