The Elephants

Good day, fellow crafters. My latest card is one that, once again, was inspired by someone dear to me love of animals. In this case the mighty elephant. In this card, we see a mother elephant and her calf in silhouette contrasting against the warm hues of the setting sun. This image evokes a sense of peace and tranquility, as if time has momentarily stopped to allow us to appreciate the beauty of nature. Whether you're sending this card to a loved one or displaying it in your own home, it serves as a reminder of the beauty and wonder that can be found in even the simplest moments of life.

To create this stunning card, I began with a piece of watercolor paper and my trusty Altenew watercolor set. With a careful hand, I applied the colors of an early setting sun to the paper, making sure to avoid any unwanted color blends. I then set it aside to dry before moving on to the next step.

After cutting out the elephants using the Gina Maria Trunks Up die and the tree with another die from my collection, I set them aside to move on to the next step.

Creating the frame for the background was the next order of business. To achieve this, I utilized the Wood Frame Infinity Dies from Hero Arts, cutting them out of White cardstock. I then added some depth to the frame by ink-blending it with the rich hue of Gina K.'s Dark Chocolate ink.

As I wanted the scene to speak for itself, I intentionally left out any sentiment. Instead, I opted to include a personal message inside the card and began assembling the various elements. After adhering the frame to the background, I positioned the elephants and tree to my liking, making necessary adjustments to the size of the tree to ensure it fit perfectly.

With every detail in place, the card was ready to bring joy and happiness to my intended recipient.
