My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge

Inspiration Sketch 642

Good day, fellow crafters. I am delighted to share with you my submission for the MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge #642, well what was going to be my entry as I made it a little too late to submit, which is a bummer. Regardless I had a lot of fun creating this card and using the inspiration provided by the suggested sketch layout. I enjoy the challenge and the out-of-your-own headspace the sketches provide by not forcing you to have to think up the layouts yourself. I hope you enjoy.

To create this birthday card, I began by browsing my collection for inspiration and stumbled upon a sprinkle-covered paper from my scrapbook supplies that immediately caught my eye. I cut the paper to size and used the My Favorite Things Inside & Out Stitched STAX Die-namics die set to cut out three circles that matched the inspiration sketch. Next came matting the background with a beautiful shade of pink which made all of the colors on the card pop before adhering it to a white A2 card base.

For the focal point, I used the MFT All the Cupcakes stamp set and Gina K’s Amalgam ink to stamp them onto white cardstock and colored the images with my Copic markers. I next fussy cut out all of the images and then used pop dots to raise them up off of the card for added dimension.

The sentiment was also created from the MFT All the Cupcakes stamp set, the same Gina K ink, and onto a piece of pink cardstock to match the mat. Overall, this card features a fun and festive design that makes it perfect for wishing someone a happy birthday. Creating a personalized birthday card can be a thoughtful way to show someone that you care. This card in particular demonstrates how using a specific die set, along with small touches such as colorful mats and raised focal points, can make a big impact on the overall design.
