Anniversary Card

I have a couple of wedding anniversaries for friends and family coming up so I thought that I would take advantage of a gloomy day where I live and create a little crafting happiness.

I am going to show you one of the cards that I finished, which I felt was very elegant yet was simple to create. Let me share with you how I did it.

I started this project using Recollections Shimmering White card stock from Michaels that I embossed with Altenew’s 3D Sunshine Blossoms embossing folder. To the raised area I added Rose Gold gilding polish from Cosmic Shimmer being incredibly careful to keep in on the raised section. I gave the gilding polish time to dry and by the time I was back with my glass of wine, it was ready.

From there, I cut out the gilded embossing using Hero Arts nested rectangular dies. I also cut out a light gray cardstock that I had on hand using the same nested die but, one size larger. I noticed that the raised area of my embossing had sunken in a little so I ran it back through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 by lining it up in the same embossing folder to give it some oomph. Next up was assembly.

I took my embossed shimmering white card stock and put double-sided tape around the edges to secure it to my light gray cardstock to create a matted look. I repeated the taping on the back of the light gray cardstock and mounted it to a piece of Accent Opaque Digital standard white 110 lb that I cut and scored to make a bi-fold base that measured 5”x 6”.

I wanted to add a sentiment, so I looked through my inventory and saw this Cute Elegant Occasion sentiment (GLP-033) from Spellbinders that read Happy Anniversary in a beautiful script. Bingo, that was the one! It made my heart soar. I foiled this with Rose Gold glimmer foil from Spellbinders on top of the same light gray card stock I used earlier as a mat. Using double-sided raised foam tape I mounted the sentiment.

The elegance of this card is very eye-catching however it is one that I feel will make a very lasting impression.
