My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge
This adorable bi-fold card was created for this week’s My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge using sketch MFTWSC635 as the directed layout. This layout can be found on the challenge page using the link under the image below.
Since I was looking to create a card for one of my young nephew’s upcoming birthday, I decided to incorporate this challenge into my card design for him. At his age, since he is into everything Pirate, the challenge sketch layout lent itself immediately to the idea of a pirate map beautifully and so cemented into my design concept.
For the pirate, I used the My Favorite Things Party Like A pirate stamp and Die Set. The map was created by using the Taylored Expressions Treasure Map Background Stamp and the Honey Bee Stamps Sandy Shore Background stamp. I also used a Stitched Rectangle Die from My Favorite Things to give the background a little more oomph.
The inks for the project were Gina K Kraft; Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, and Lawn Fawn Black Licorice
I probably used more Copic markers for this project than any I have done…well ever… so instead of listing the colors check out the images below.
I feel this card turned out extremely well and I am very proud of it. I am positive my little Pirate will love it.
