Sunset Thanks

Good day fellow crafters. I would like to present to you an experiment I created for a stenciling class. I wanted to create with some colored gel matte that I didn’t have for the project so I created my own. I think in the end it turned out just as good and I got the colors I wanted. I hope you enjoy it.

To create the colors for this card I placed a sizeable bit of Golden brand Extra Heavy Gel Matte onto my crafting mat, which I then separated it into smaller dollops and tinted using the Altenew Crisp Inks I have in my collection in the colors of Ocean Waves, Raspberry, and Orange Cream. I then spread them over the Altenew Floral Mandela Stencil in rainbow order with my pallet knife which created the additional colors to give me the look you see here.

Next, I removed the stencil and allowed the gel matte to dry. Once it was ready I double-matted the card background with black and orange and then put on a pre-cut A2 White card base.

The sentiment was also cut in the Black card stock with Altenew’s Fancy Thanks die set and stacked three high to give it dimension. The finishing touches were with Kat Scrappiness flat back beads.
