Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Buildings

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you a creation for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge that I just completed. This week's theme revolves around Buildings, and I must admit that it posed quite a challenge for me. After thoroughly sifting through my collection, I finally settled on a single, exceptional option. I sincerely hope you find it enjoyable.

To create the background for this card, I first began with the Persian Skyline stencil from Honey Bee, pictured left. This stencil is actually three separate pieces that you take apart in order to use which allows for multiple combinations. For this card I stuck to the portion shown at the top of the image.

On white card stock I used a combination of the Distress Oxide colors you can see in the entry image. These are probably my favorite ones for creating

a sunset. Not only do they blend together nicely, but they are truly representative of a sunset. For the buildings, I wanted to showcase them as a silhouette, so for that I turned to Distress Oxide in the color Black Soot.

Once those inks had all dried I added my sentiment, also in Black Soot, from the Neighbors stamp set from The Ink Road. This stamp set is really cute and is based on the American TV show Mr. Rodger’s Neighborhood, which believe it or not was on TV from February 19, 1968 to February 20, 1976, and again from August 27, 1979 to August 31, 2001. The final episode was recorded on December 1, 2000.

The final stage was assembly. I trimmed the background panel and a black mat to their final dimension, adhered them together and the adhered the composite to a white card base.
