Rediscover Your Supplies an IG Hop -December 2023

Good day, fellow crafters. Welcome to the Re-Discovery Hop! The premise of this hop is to find the treasures hidden, instead of buying new supplies. We all have those drawers, bins, and shelves we have tucked away and forgotten. I challenge you to root through them and rediscover what you have. I bet you’d be surprised! Please hop along with us to see what we created with our hidden treasures. If you’d like to join this amazing hop, don't hesitate to get in touch with @deezinesbyd and @amritapettus on IG for more info. I hope you enjoy my submission.

To create the background for this card, I first began with choosing a premium white cardstock as my background panel base. I next utilized the Concord & 9th Make a Wish stamp set, and inks from both the Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamps collections, colors for both featured left, to stamp in the image of the candles. Once that was completed I used the smooshed ink technique, some water, and Lawn Fawn ink in the color Fish Tank to add a splatter effect.

I next added the sentiment which for this card’s theme, I chose the Gina K Party Time stamp set, featured right, and black ink. I stamped this directly onto the background panel. Also to give the card more visual interest I used the Honey Bee Stamps Balloon Bunch die set (Currently Retired) to cut the balloon and the cord. I then attached these to the background panel with some Bearly Arts liquid glue.

The last stage was assembly. Using a Hero Arts rectangular nesting die set and my Gemini die-cutting machine, I first cut the background panel down to its final dimensions and then followed that up with a slightly larger die and some black cardstock to cut out a mat. I then used double-sided tape to adhere the background panel to the mat and then repeated the process to adhere the composite it a white card base. With that, I called the card complete.

Note: Please be aware that I don't have any sponsorship arrangements with the suppliers mentioned in this post; I simply appreciate and frequently use their products. To support the creation of more content like this, I've included affiliate links for some of the featured supplies. Utilizing these links won't incur any additional costs for you, but it does provide a small benefit to me, allowing me to continue sharing my work with you.
