National Suicide Prevention Week

You are Not Alone

Good day, fellow crafters. National Suicide Prevention Week is an important occasion that brings attention to a topic that affects countless lives around the globe. At Forget-Me-Not Card Company, we believe that fostering connections and spreading positivity is at the heart of what we do, and addressing such critical issues aligns with our mission. All this week we are joining with other crafters and cardmakers to create works that will serve to remind the recipient that they are not forgotten or alone. Please feel free to hop along with us on IG using my post as a starter or by finding our works using any of the following hashtags: #stopsuicide #realconvo #realtalk #suicideprevention #itsokaynottobeokay #mentalhealthmatters #selfcare #youarenotalone

You can also find more information at https://afsp.org/. I hope you enjoy my submission.

For this card, I really wanted to go bold. I wanted the message to be seen. I wanted it to be felt. I wanted the recipient to know that they are not alone and that the sender cares enough to be bold about their message.

To create this card I used the Brutus Monroe Nautical Rope set from my collection, sorry no photos this time, along with some Spectrum Noir Luxury Gilding Flakes in the colors called Lapis Blue and Midnight Mauve. Once the gilding was applied I carefully removed the stencil and allowed it to dry. Next, the sentiment was created utilizing the Altenew Your Matter die set, gray cardstock, and pink glitter cardstock.

The next phase was to trim the background panel to its final dimensions, and then trim to the final size a blue glitter cardstock to go with the pink to reinforce the colors of the card. I then mounted the background panel to the mat with double-sided tape and then the composite to a square grey card base. The final step was to use liquid glue to adhere the sentiment.
