My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge

For this week’s challenge I decided I would stick with the whimsical nautical theme that I used to create the cute pirate card for last week’s challenge. By using this week’s challenge layout, MFTWSC636, and the same basic techniques I came up with a more feminine variation on the theme.

To create this card background on Bristol Smooth Illustration paper, I started by using Ranger’s Broken China Distress Oxide and My Favorite Things Ocean Motion Stencil to create a wavy underwater look. I then cut it out with MFT’s Wonky Stich Rectangle die, which I also used on the purple cardstock in the sketch pattern.

To create the sentiment I used VersaFine Clair black pigment ink using the sentiment stamp that comes with the MFT Oceans of Love stamp and die kit. From that kit I also produced the rest of the card elements that I colored in with my Copic Markers. My personal favorite was the cute little star fish!

The envelope for this card I made from a sheet of American Crafts 12”x12” scrapbook paper that I found at JoAnn’s. Even though this was the largest card I have made to date my We Are Memory Maker’s Envelope Maker was still able to make to do the job.
