Altenew March 2023 Inspiration Challenge: Sixth Entry
During this gloomy part of the year here where I live, not quite winter not quite spring, having the natural colors of the world outside to draw upon made me excited to give this challenge a try. Below is the fifth in the series of entries for this challenge that I am submitting.
To start this card I used Altenew’s Leaf Bed Stencil set, layered on top of a piece of 110lb white card stock and inked it with Altenew’s Hazelnut, Yellow Ochre and Sicilian Amber crisp dye inks. I came up with this layout after remembering the effect that some leaves left on my concrete walk when they had gotten wet from a snow storm then had dried sticking to the concrete. Once they were removed they left a pattern very similar to this stencil. With some double sided adhesive I then mounted the inked card stock to some green card stock to form a matted effect and then mounted that to a previously bi-folded 4”x6” brown cardstock base.
To complete the card, I adhered the “Hello Beautiful” sentiment which was stamped in VersaFine Clair black pigment ink onto some light spring green cardstock using a stamp from the Altenew Amazing You stamp set and then cut with a die from my collection.
