Masculine Recovery

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you a “Get Well” card that I recently created. I was going through my stash of completed cards to mail out when I needed a “Get Well” card and realized that I had no masculine varieties available to use, hence this card. I am a firm believer that everyone needs to be made to feel as though they are thought of by others and loved so I will make sure to have more on hand going forward. I hope you enjoy.

To create this card I began with some light blue cardstock, Creative Expressions Ocean Teal Metallic Gilding Polish, and an unnamed stencil that came from a collection of stencils that I found on Amazon. After securing the cardstock to my worksurface and then securing the stencil into place I gently spread the gilding polish over the stencil. I was intentionally going for the look of this card so if you want to replicate it be sure to use light pressure when applying. I then carefully removed the stencil and allowed the panel to dry.

Once the panel was dry I trimmed it to its final dimensions and then used a slightly larger die from the Stamps of Life Dotted Rectangle die set, above left, to cut a black mat to add some more visual appeal. I then used double-sided tape to adhere the background panel to the mat and then repeated the process to adhere the composite to a white card base.

To finish the card I needed to create the sentiment. For this card, I chose a sentiment from the Stampendous From My Heart stamp set, featured right, and used VersaMark watermark ink and WoW! Black embossing powder which was then heat set on a piece of the same cardstock as the background panel. Using my Gemini die-cutting machine and a sentiment label from Momenta I cut out the sentiment. I then used a little black ink to distress the edges before adding Bearly Art liquid glue to adhere it to the background panel. With that, I called the card complete.
