Forever in Love
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I'm thrilled to introduce a card crafted with the exquisite Altenew stamp set, Forever in Love. This design emanates a timeless charm, perfect for conveying sentiments that transcend the ordinary and inviting you to share in the joy of sending a piece of heart crafted warmth to those who matter most. I hope you enjoy.
To begin crafting the backdrop for this card, my initial step involved selecting the color palette. I opted to employ the Altenew Inspirational Palette #8, which is made up of the colors of ink on the left, all from the Altenew Crisp Ink line. I next secured a piece of 8-1/2 x 11 white cardstock to my work surface and then using Mint Tape, I created masked areas to use to ink blend the colors onto the cardstock. When I needed to move to the next color I made sure to mask off the edge of the color next to it so that I would get nice crisp lines. Once I had all of the colors completed to my satisfaction, I carefully removed the Mint Tape and the tape securing the cardstock to the work surface and allowed it to dry completely.
The next stage was to add the main focal element, the beautiful floral stamp from the Altenew Forever in Love, featured below right. I aligned my inked background panel in my Misti stamping tool and then aligned, inked, and stamped the image with black ink. I repeated the inking and stamping three times to ensure I got a very crisp transfer of the image. I also took this opportune time to go ahead and align, ink, and stamp my sentiment with VersaMark watermark ink. I next removed the background panel from my Misti and applied WoW! Metallic Gold embossing powder, which I then heat set.
The last finishing detail for this card before assembly was to apply a gold splatter effect, which you can more clearly see in the enlarged image in the gallery below. To create this effect I opted to use the gold pigment from my Altenew metallic watercolor set.
The last stage was assembly. Using a Hero Arts rectangular nesting die set, I first cut the background panel down to its final dimensions and then followed that up with a 5 x 7 die and some black cardstock to cut out a mat. I then used double-sided tape to adhere the background panel to the mat and then I repeated the process to adhere the composite to an A7-sized white card base. With that, I called the card complete.
