Irresistible Inking
Good day fellow crafters. Inspiration took hold as it always does when you least expect it and I decided to create this simple birthday card. I hope you enjoy it.
To begin I used the Altenew Engraved Flowers stamp along with VersaMark clear ink and Fine Silver embossing powder that I heat set to create the image of the flowers and leaves. I filled them in by turning my Altenew Crisp Inks in the colors of Sea Forest, Olives, Coral Bliss, Rouge, Cotton Candy and Baby Pink into my own water colors by stamping them on my silicon work mat and spritzing them with water. I really enjoy water coloring and this technique lets me use many many more colors than you can easily find available in the water color pots. Once they were all dry I used the corresponding die set to cut them out then surface mounted on another piece of White card stock which was cut to the size needed for the next step.
That next step was to use the Spellbinders Cutting Dies border set and a piece of Silver card stock to make the mat frame that background sit upon. I loved his look as it reminded me very much of antique picture frames I have seen in the past.
The sentiment, which came from the Altenew Blissful Bud stamp and die set, was also stamped in clear ink and heat embossed with the same Fine Silver embossing powder.
Lastly, for some extra sparkle I added Pinkfresh Studio’s flat backed jewels in the color of Ballet Slipper (pink) and included an envelope made with some paper that I had that I used for my color inspiration.
