Altenew April 2023 Inspiration Challenge
Good day fellow crafters. Below is my first entry into this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge. I personally love this time of year because the world is coming back into full color and life is bountiful. I actually have a large rose bush just outside my craft studio window so for me, this is a perfect challenge. I hope you enjoy it.
To create this card I started with a Black cardstock background to which I then matted a deep Red cardstock. These were adhered to a pre-cut White A2 card base.
I then positioned the diamond shape that I cut from a Silver cardstock using Tonic Studio’s Diamond layering die. These I really like because of the scalloped edges. It gives it an antique picture frame look.
The next step was the focal point. For this, I used the Altenew Amazing You stamp and die set to create the rose. I cut these from White cardstock and then used watered-down embossing powder, Gina K Christmas Pine for the various green colors, and Ranger’s Red Geranium for the red. To give the flower some shine I used some Wink of Stella. The photo doesn’t do it justice as it gets a little washed out but in person, the look is really eye-catching.
The sentiment was created using the Altenew Featured Sentiment Die and the Amazing You stamps with Black ink. For some extra pizzaz, I added some Nuvo Crystal drops in green around the card.
