Heart Shaped Love

IG Valentine’s Day Hop - Week 3 - 2024

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present my submission to week 3 of our IG Valentine’s Day Hop! Hop along with us as we spread the love until the end of February. DM @magymakes on IG if you’d like to join in!

Our theme this week is to share that love comes in all shapes and sizes. I hope you enjoy.

To create this card I first began with some beautifully hued and very traditional red cardstock, the Honey Bee Stamps Whimsical Hearts stencil (featured left), and Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Scepter Red. I secured the cardstock to my worksurface and then did the same for the stencil. Using a small pallet knife I applied the paste across the stencil being sure to cover all the openings thoroughly. I then carefully removed the stencil, scrapped off any excess from it back into the container, and then made sure to clean my tools to ensure no staining.

Once the paste had dried completely, I used my Gemini die-cutting machine and the

Creative Craft Products Scalloped Hearts die set, featured right, to cut out the background panel to its final dimensions. I then folded a card base out of the same red cardstock, offset the die so as to not cut the fold, and ran it through the Gemini. I then adhered the background panel to the card base with Bearly Art liquid glue.

The last step was to add the sentiment. For this, I went with the other half of the traditional color combination and chose a bright white cardstock. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Big Love You (SSSD111323) die set to cut out two copies of my sentiment. I then used the Bearly Arts liquid glue to adhere the copies together and then that composite to the background panel. With that, I called this card complete.
