When It’s Raining
Good day fellow crafters. Today I am presenting to you my entry for the Allsorts Challenge Blog’s weekly design challenge. The theme this week is rain and I have been wanting to use this super cute duck die set from Spellbinders for quite some time so I am incorporating it today. I hope you enjoy it.
To begin this card I placed a light pale Gray card stock, which I had misted the back of to prevent cracking, into the Raindrops 3D Embossing folder by Spellbinders and ran it through my die-cutting machine. Once removed I used a rectangular die to cut it down to its final size. Using another piece of a darker Gray card stock I cut with a larger rectangular die, I matted the background and adhered the whole thing to a pre-cut A2 White card base.
The cute little duck and umbrella set from Spellbinders is called Duck and Umbrella, funnily enough, and comes with 11 different dies that allow a lot of creativity. I chose a more simple use for them with this card but I have a load more ideas that you will see in the future I am sure. Once the pieces were cut out they were assembled with some liquid glue. However, before I adhered them to the card base I decided to use the Puddles stencil from Whimsy Stamps and some Distress Oxide Black Soot to create a puddle for the duck to splash in. This also gave me the idea to make it look a bit like you were looking at the scene through a window that would be misty with rain so I incorporated some Gina K Designs Glitz Glitter Gel to create the effect.
The sentiment was created from a piece of the same Gray card stock as the mat and stamped using the Spellbinders I’ve Got You Covered stamp and die set along with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink.
