Sending A Breath of Springtime

Good day fellow crafters. Here is my entry for the My Time to Craft Challenge Blog’s weekly challenge. The theme this week is Springtime. I felt it was the perfect opportunity to put my layering practice to use. I hope you enjoy it.

To make this card, I began with the Delicate Scroll stencil, by A Colorful Life Designs, on White card stock with light Gray ink, which I then matted with Gray card stock. Next, I used a piece of Navy Blue cardstock that I misted with water on the back and embossed using the Vines folder from Park Lane. After running it through the die-cut machine, I trimmed a curve through the card stock and separated it to add a window shade appearance to the stenciled background. I adhered all of this to a pre-cut A2 White card base.

The focal point of the card, the flowers, are from Altenew's Antique Roses stamp and die set which was stamped using Altenew's Crisp Dye Inks, which produce crisp detailing in your stamped works. After stamping the images, I used their corresponding dies to cut them out and adhered them to the card base.

To create the sentiment, I used Altenew's Paint A Flower White Swan Echinacea stamp set and deep black ink.

Below are the ink colors I used for reference.
