Altenew March 2023 Inspiration Challenge: Third Entry

During this gloomy part of the year here where I live, not quite winter not quite spring, having the natural colors of the world outside to draw upon made me excited to give this challenge a try. Below is the third in the series of entries for this challenge that I am submitting.

To start this card I used Altenew’s Weave Builder Stencil layered on top of a piece of 110lb white card stock and inked it with Altenew’s Just Green and Yellow Ochre. The key to using this stencil as advertised is that as soon as the first ink has dried, you flip the stencil over to its back side making sure to not rotate it in anyway and then lining it up so that you are creating a mirror of the previously inked image. As you can see in this card I didn’t do that but aligned them directly under each other which left the white stripping effect. With some double sided adhesive I then mounted the inked card stock to some light dark green card stock to form a matted effect and then mounted that to a previously bi-folded 4”x6” brown cardstock base.

To complete the card, I adhered the “Hello” sentiment which was created by layering the hello die cut to give it some height. I wanted this card to look a bit more masculine so I used a piece of brown cardstock very similar to the card base that had a color and texture that reminded me of a paper grocery bag.
