Altenew March 2023 Inspiration Challenge: Second Entry

During this gloomy part of the year here where I live, not quite winter not quite spring, having the natural colors of the world outside to draw upon made me excited to give this challenge a try. Below is the second in the series of entries for this challenge that I am submitting.

To start this card I used Altenew’s Weave Builder Stencil layered on top of a piece of 110lb white card stock and inked it with Altenew’s Misty Moor and Yellow Ochre. The key to using this stencil is that as soon as the first ink has dried, you flip the stencil over to its back side making sure to not rotate it in anyway and then lining it up so that you are creating a mirror of the previously inked image. With some double sided adhesive I then mounted the inked card stock to some light spring green card stock to form a matted effect and then mounted that to a previously bi-folded 4”x6” brown cardstock base.

To complete the card, I adhered the “you can do anything” sentiment from Altenew’s Fancy Greetings stamp set, stamped in VersaFine’s Clair pigment ink. I wanted this card to look a bit more masculine so I used a piece of brown cardstock that had a color reminiscent of undyed leather. I then ran it through my die cut machine with a stitched die to give it a sewn on look.
