Themed Fridays #25 - Focal Point February - Sentiments
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you my submission to the IG hop Themed Fridays, number # 25! This month is Focal Point February and this week the specific focus is Sentiments! We are hoping to inspire you to let those sentiments shine! (or pop or sparkle) If you are inspired to participate please be sure to add the #themed_fridays_card_making_fun to your post. We would love to see what you come up with. If you’d like to join our fun little group please DM @touchofmagik on Instagram. I hope you enjoy.
To create this card I first began by adhering some white cardstock to a sheet of double-sided adhesive. I then used the A2 Word die “HI” (sbc-a2dies-9) from scrapbooking.com and my Gemini die-cutting machine to cut my image. I next peeled back the adhesive cover on the other side of the card and liberally applied Finnabair Studios Fine Metallic Flakes in the color Dublin over all of the adhesive. It is very important that once you have it covered you burnish it to make sure all of the flakes adhere and no spot is left uncovered. I did this with my fingers over a paper towel so that I could collect anything that came off to reuse. DO NOT do this step over a silicone work surface as you will never be able to get it off in a usable state and your worksurface will be very hard to clean.
Once that step was complete I trimmed a black mat down to match the dimensions of my cut-out and then adhered the cut-out to the mat with some Bearly Arts liquid glue. I then adhered the composite to a white A2 card base.
Since I try very hard to be a zero-waste business, I decided that I would use the negative space left from the cut-out to create a second card. I trimmed down another piece of black cardstock and adhered the card together with liquid glue as before. With that, I called this set of cards complete.
