To create this card, I secured a 6 in x 6 in piece of vellum sheet onto an equally sized sheet of double-sided adhesive. I took care to do this slowly to avoid any bubbling of the vellum. Next, using scissors, I trimmed along the edges where the vellum and adhesive met to remove any excess adhesive that if left behind would leave sticky residue on my trimmer or onto the embossing folder.

Once that was prepared I inserted the trimmed vellum into the Altenew Book Cover Engravings 3D embossing folder, featured left, and ran it through my Gemini machine. To ensure that I get a clean and crisp transfer I typically do this twice. I then removed the newly embossed vellum from the folder and then carefully peeled back a portion of the adhesive and aligned it in the corner of a purple cardstock, ensuring perfect placement. Once aligned, I slowly removed the adhesive sheet backing, pressing the vellum onto the background panel, once again being as careful as possible to avoid bubbling.

The next stage was the card assembly. I trimmed the vellum and cardstock down to 5.5 in x 5.5 in so that I could leave a .25 in border around it. I then applied double-sided tape to the edges of the background panel and adhered it to a 6 in x 6 in white card base. Lastly, I used the Spellbinders Mini Everyday Sentiments hot foil glimmer plate and some purple foil to create my sentiment label which I surface mounted to the card background panel. With that, I called the card complete.
