For this particular card, I've decided to go with a design that features a charming baby elephant, and I've opted for a color palette dominated by shades of blue. The design intention behind this choice is to create a masculine-themed baby card that exudes a sense of adorable simplicity. The baby elephant serves as a perfect symbol of innocence and sweetness, making it an ideal choice for celebrating the arrival of a baby boy. The blue color scheme not only adds a touch of traditional masculinity but also conveys a sense of calm and serenity, which is often associated with the arrival of a new life. By blending these elements, I aim to craft a card that beautifully balances cuteness and masculinity, ensuring it becomes a heartwarming and memorable keepsake for the proud parents and their bundle of joy.

To create this card I first began with a piece of White Hammermill cardstock, a blue ink-blending brush, and Distress Oxide ink in the color called Broken China. I took my time and blended the color until I had just the right hue of blue that I was looking to achieve. I did not want it too harsh but not to light at the same time. I then allowed the ink to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

Once dry I trimmed the background panel to its final dimensions, which were dictated by the Park Lane Diamond embossing folder, featured left. I then lightly misted the back of the cardstock with water to add moisture to the paper fibers. This added moisture will allow the paper to more readily bend and reduce the chances of tearing. I then ran the embossing folder through my die-cutting machine a couple of times to ensure I got a nice crisp transfer. I then secured the now embossed panel to my work surface with Hero Arts pigment ink in Unicorn inked the tops of the embossing. I then set it aside.

The next stage was to create the focal point of my card. For this, I went out of my comfort zone a little bit and included a Digi stamp that I had recently been given. I had never used one before but I quickly figured it out and was able to resize it to fit my needs. I next trimmed a piece of Hammermill white card down to 8.5 x 11, and put it through my laser printer to print off the image. To add color to the print I used my collection of Copic markers and when that was complete, I fussy cut around the image and adhered it into place on the background panel.

For the next stage I trimmed down a piece of blue glitter paper to act as my mat for this card. I then cut my sentiment from the center of the mat, so not to waste materials, using the Pretty Pink Posh Baby script die, feature right. I next adhered the sentiment to the background panel and the background panel to the mat with double-sided tape. Lastly, I adhered the composite to a white card base. With that, I called the card complete.
