Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Delicious Drinks

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you a creation for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge that I just completed. This week's theme revolves around delicious drinks. Picture this: You're holding a card that's so coffee-themed, it practically comes with its own aroma. If it had a scent, it would be the perfect blend of freshly ground beans and the anticipation of that first sip in the morning. Imagine the card as your morning wake-up call but without the caffeine jitters. This little piece of art is like a virtual café for your fingertips, and it's here to deliver a cup of humor that's as rich and delightful as your favorite brew. So, sit back, relax, and get ready to indulge in some seriously brewed-tiful laughter! I hope you enjoy my submission.

For this card's background, I embarked on a deep dive into my paper pack collection to find that spark of inspiration that would set the tone for this design. Now, while some might argue that water is the ultimate drink handed down by the Creator to us mere mortals, let's face it, it's the coffee bean that really puts the "awe" in water! It's like water went to college and came back as coffee – who can blame it? Armed with the finest variations of coffee bean paper, my card practically brewed itself into existence.

After collecting the paper I wanted to use, including the awesome sheet with the sentiment, I trimmed everything down to fit on a slim line card base that I cut from some Kraft-colored cardstock, which is like a light roasted coffee color so it helps carry the theme. I then used the Big Mug die from Impression Obsession, featured left, to cut out my mug and the hint of coffee-colored cardstock you see at the top of the cup. I then used some Distress Oxide in the color called Vintage Photo to break the edges and give everything a little bit of age. Finally, I cut out a border using Sunny Studio’s Ric Rac border, featured right, in some coffee brown cardstock.

The last stage was assembly. I adhered everything together with some double-sided tape onto a coffee brown cardstock mat and adhered the composite onto the card base.

So there you have it, a journey from paper to perfection, each step as delightful as that first sip of morning coffee. Remember, crafting is like brewing your own magic – a dash of ingenuity, a sprinkle of imagination, and a generous helping of passion.
