Spring Into Card Making IG Hop -Week 6
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present my submission to week 6 of the Spring Into Cardmaking Hop on IG. This week we are creating cards that spring or have springy movement, though I chose to exclude the movement piece for my card. The cute little chick in the picture does however wind-up and hop around. I hope you enjoy.
To create this card I began with the Simon Says Stamp Spring Gnomies stamp set, featured left, some watercolor paper, and inks by Altenew in various colors. I stamped the image with black ink and then utilzing the smooshed ink method, I water colored the image with my water brush pen. I then set it aside to dry.
While waiting, I created the background panel by trimming a piece of patterned paper from my collection with my Hero Arts rectangular nested die set to size and my Gemini. I then followed that up by cutting a black mat with a slightly larger die. I adhered the background panel to the mat and then to the white card base with Bearly Arts liquid glue.
Once my image was dry I used a Hero Arts circle nested die set to cut out the image as well as used a scalloped circle die to cut a black mat. I adhered both of these together and then to background panel with more liquid glue. To add some visual appeal I added some clear flat-backed gems.
Lastly, using some more black ink and a sentiment from the same stamp set, I stamped my sentiment onto the page. With that I called this card complete.
