National Creativity Day

May National Holiday Hops 2024

Good day, fellow crafters. Today I am presenting to you a card that I created to submit to the May National Holiday Hop 2024 which is held on Instagram. There are a lot of very talented people participating so I hope you will give them all some love. You can find them by using the hashtag #nationalmayholidayhop2024

National Creativity Day, celebrated annually on May 30th, is a vibrant event dedicated to honoring and inspiring the creative spirit in all its forms. Established in 2018, this day encourages everyone to engage in creative activities, from arts and crafts to innovative problem-solving. For handmade greeting card enthusiasts and businesses like Forget-Me-Not Card Company, it’s an ideal opportunity to showcase artistic processes, share crafting tutorials, and engage with the community through interactive challenges. Celebrating National Creativity Day can boost brand visibility, drive blog traffic, and foster a deeper connection with a creativity-loving audience.

To create this card I employed a die set from the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month from August 2021 to cut out all of the cardstock pieces. The title of the kit is Art School and the model number given is KOM-AUG21 if you want to try and find it online. This kit has a lot of really fun dies that aren’t shown that allow you to make things such as crayons, a hot glue gun, binder clips and a pencil sharpener just to name a few.

Once I had all of the pieces cut out using the dies and my Gemini, I used Bearly Arts liquid glue to adhere the pieces together. I then cut out the background panel and a black cover for a mat. These I adhered together and then adhered to a white A2 card base. I then arranged all the pieces to fit and adhered them into place. For added texture, I incorporated a bit of glossy accents over each of my “paint” samples, which give them a wet look.

Lastly, I utilized some black ink to stamp my sentiment, which also came from the kit. With that, I called the card complete.
