Slimline Love
Rediscovery Hop - Love - January 2024
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you my submission to the Rediscovery Hop on IG. The premise of this hop is to find the treasures hidden within your stash, instead of buying new supplies. We are challenged to root through our craft drawers, bins, and shelves and rediscover what has been tucked away and forgotten. If you’d like to join this amazing hop, please contact @deezinesbyd and @amritapettus on IG for more info. I hope you.
To create this card I first began with some pink cardstock and the slimline Scattered Hearts die from Scrapbooking.com, featured left. I ran the cardstock and die through my Gemini die-cutting machine and then collected all of the little hearts for future projects. I then set aside the panel.
The next step I took was to use a rectangular slimline die to cut a red cardstock to size. I then used a homemade iridescent pearl spray to give the cardstock some shimmer. I then set it aside and allowed it to dry. Once that had occurred I used Bearly Art liquid glue to adhere the two together and then used double-sided tape to adhere the composite to a slimline card base.
The last step was to create the sentiment. For this, I utilized the Words-16 die set from Scrapbooking.com, featured below right. This die set allows you to cut out both the letters and a shadow. For the letters I used the same red cardstock as the background and for the shadow I used black cardstock. Once cut out I adhered the letters to the shadow with liquid glue and then the composite to the card background with some pop dots to add more visual interest to the card. With that, I called the card complete.
