November Rediscover Hop

Thankful

Good day, fellow crafters. As we explore the art of expressing thanks, our mission is to provide a thoughtful message that resonates with the recipient. In a world filled with constant hustle, taking a moment to acknowledge and cherish the people and moments that enrich our lives becomes a precious endeavor. This card serves as a tangible expression of gratitude, embracing simplicity and authenticity in its design. I hope you enjoy my submission to this challenge.

To create the background for this card, I first began with Hammermill white cardstock and Distress Oxide in Mustard Seed. Using an ink-blending brush I blended the ink onto the cardstock until I was happy with the hue. I next utilized my brayer and Distress Oxide in the color Barn Door to cover the debossing side of Gina K’s Falling Leaves embossing folder, placed the cardstock in only halfway, and then ran it through a die-cutting machine. I then set the background panel aside to allow it to dry.

The next stage was to create my cornucopia image and for this, I used a stamp kit from my collection that was from Love Nicole. I first stamped the image onto some white cardstock with some black ink and then using the smooshed ink method, I watercolored with various colors of Distress Oxide inks and then allowed them to dry. Once that was completed I fussy cut the image and set it aside.

The next stage was assembly. I first trimmed the background panel down to its final dimensions and then for visual appeal I decided to use a green that was next to the yellow on the color wheel and cut it to size. I next used an earthy brown colored ribbon to clean up the seam between embossed and non-embossed space before I adhered the background panel to the mat and then the composite to a brown card base. Lastly, I once again used the Love Nicole set for the sentiment which was stamped in black ink. With that, I called the card complete.
