Christmas Fun Fold
Poor Little Kitten
Good day, fellow crafters. Whoa is me, it looks like a kitten has lost her mitten, I hope she isn’t going to cry. Get ready to fold in some laughter and unfold the charm with our special mitten-shaped fun fold card. It's a purr-fect blend of humor and creativity that'll leave you grinning from ear to ear. Let's embark on this crafty journey together – no mittens were harmed in the making of this card, just a whole lot of laughter! I hope you enjoy my submission to this challenge.
To create this cute mitten I began with a piece of red cardstock and the Cable Knit embossing die from Sunny Studio, featured left. I made sure to mist the back of the cardstock to return some moisture to the paper fibers to allow them to bend and not tear. I then placed the cardstock into the embossing folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine a couple of times to ensure a clean and crisp image. I then set the embossed cardstock aside and allowed it to dry.
Once that was completed I then turned to the Sunny Studio Woolen Mitten die kit, featured below right, to cut out the shape of the glove. I next used some white cardstock to cut out the stitched trim, and some paper from Spellbinders Whimsical Forest paper pack for the cuff. If you look close you will see a mischievous little gnomie. The last element I cut out was a black cardstock
button to emulate a real pair of mittens.
The last stage was assembly. I first adhered the trim to the cuff and then the cuff to the mitten. Once that was in place I added the button and gave it a little white highlight to make it appear sewn on. I next used the mitten die again on a folded white cardstock with just a little overhang so as to not cut the fold to create the card base. Finally, I adhered the background panel to the card base with some double-sided tape.
The sentiment for this card was gold heat foil created with Spellbinders Glimmer Heat Foil plates. With that, I called the card complete.
