Numbers

Good day, fellow crafters. I am delighted to share my entry for a couple of my favorite challenges and a new one that caught my attention. Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge focuses on numbers, and I immediately thought of the perfect stamp to use for it. Additionally, the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge provided the ideal opportunity for me to experiment with another one of my dies, namely the torn paper edge die from MFT. I decided to incorporate it into my design as well. As for the Pammie's Inkie Pinkie Challenge blog, it's a new discovery for me, and its theme is "anything goes," so I thought I would give it a shot. I hope you enjoy my submission.

MFT Sketch Inspiration

My Favorite Things - Number Jumble (BG-113)

To create the background for this card, I first begin with a piece of white cardstock which I placed in my Misti Stamping tool then positioned the MFT Number Jumble stamp where I wanted it. I opted to use the Misti tool in order to ensure even pressure and achieve a sharp image. With a black ink, I inked up the stamp and proceeded to stamp the image, then carefully lifted it off the white cardstock. To add color to the background, I decided to use my Copic markers and individually colored each iteration of each number with the same colors.

Moving on to the next step, I carefully selected two different cardstock colors that would harmonize with the colors I had already applied to the background. Since this card was intended for a young male recipient, I chose colors that were more masculine. After trimming the green cardstock to its final dimensions, I adhered it to a pre-cut A2 white card base. As for the blue cardstock and the stamped background, I utilized the MFT Torn Paper die set (mft2429) to achieve the torn look inspired by the MFT Sketch Challenge. Once I achieved the desired torn effect, I affixed them to the card base.

Lastly, I crafted the sentiment for this card using the MFT Arched Happy Birthday die set (MFT-2202). I opted to use the same blue cardstock as before to maintain cohesiveness and to give it visual dimension I matted the sentiment with black cardstock using the corresponding die from the set and then adhered it to the card background utilizing pop dots.

I hope that I have inspired you to create something of your own, even if you don’t join in the fun of submitting it to the challenges that I have highlighted. However if you do be sure to tag me on your entry so that I can see your work. Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions or just want to say hello.
