My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge
Good day fellow crafters. Below is my entry for this weeks My Favorite Things Weekly Sketch Challenge. This is challenge #640 and can be found in their blog posting that can be found at the link under my entry. I hope you enjoy it.
I began creating this card by using a piece of pale Blue cardstock and My Favorite Things Rippled Background stamp. My vision for the design was to achieve the appearance of rippled water in a pool, so I stamped the image using clear ink and added Brutus Monroe's Robins Egg embossing powder to enhance the ripples. Once I heat set the powder, I mounted the background onto a light Blue cardstock mat and then adhered it onto a pre-cut White A2 card base.
For the card's focal point, I utilized a scrap from the original background and the MFT Inside and Outside Arch die set to cut out the section behind the little girl. I then centered it on the card using a double layer of foam tape to provide depth. The little girl image was stamped using MFT Drink Up Sunshine and Altenew's Black pigment ink, then colored with Copic markers. After fussy cutting around the image, I surface-mounted it on top of the arched cutout.
Finally, I used a tag die set from my collection to create the sentiment tag, which I stamped with clear ink and White embossing powder. Once I heat set the powder, I surface-mounted the sentiment tag onto the card.
