My Favorite Things Color Challenge #208
Pretty Pastels
Good day fellow crafters. Below is my entry into the My Favorite Things Color Challenge #208. The theme of this challenge is Pretty Pastels and I tried to get my color pallet as close as possible to the suggested colors. I hope you enjoy it, this is the first circular matted card I have created.
To begin this card I started with some White card stock, MFT’s Mini Cloud Edges stencil, and Ranger’s Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass to create a cloudy sky background. I then used two different sizes of oval dies to cut the background down as well as a pastel Pink card stock for the mat. I used the original background, the mat, and the smaller background to create the front of my card and adhered them to a pre-cut A2 White card base.
The central focus of the card was created using the MFT Balloon Bundle stamp and die set. On White card stock I first stamped out the balloons using Staz-on Ink in Dove Gray then I stamped over that with clear powder and heat embossed it which created a slight well for the next step. I then stamped each colored ink pad down on my silicon mat and added a spritz of water to each to use like watercolors to fill in the ink well for each balloon. All of the inks were Ranger’s Distress Oxide for this step and the colors were, Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, and Speckled Egg.
To finish this card off, the sentiment was created from the same stamp and die set but was surface stamped on the card using VersaFine Clair in Morning Mist and Sky Blue Pearls from Kat Scrappiness were added.
