Putting Layering into Practice
Good day fellow crafters. May I present to you another in my series of learning to layer stamps. These I feel turned out better than my last batch and I already loved those. Getting your colors in the right order sometimes can be tricky but if done right they will turn out spectacularly. I hope you enjoy.
To create this card I began with a piece of White card stock and the A COLORFUL Life designs, Delicate Scrolls stencil which I stamped in Gina K Soft Stone dye ink. I then cut it and a mat of Gray card stock down to the size I wanted with my rectangular dies, adhered them together and mounted that to a pre-cut A2 White card base.
For the layered stamps I chose to use the Vintage Rose stamp and die set from Altenew. The inks used for the roses and the leaves were all from the Altenew Crisp Ink line and are in the image below. I love these inks for the detail they give when you place light colors over dark ones.
Once the roses were stamped and dry, I ran them through the die-cutting machine with their coordinating dies and then assembled and adhered them directly to the background.
The sentiment I used for these cards all came from the Altenew Simply the Best stamp set. There was no die for this set so I fussy cut around them and then and surface-mounted them to the background as well.
Below you will see some variations on the layout and differing sentiments that I came up with.
