Clean & Simple + Use 3 Colors

Good day, fellow crafters. I am excited to share with you my submission to the two final challenges I have ready to be sent in today. Be sure to follow the links above for more information and see if their ongoing challenges are something you want to participate in too. The themes for today are Clean & Simple and to use only three colors. I hope you enjoy.

The background for this card was created as part of a project I undertook recently to create marbled paper. I had so much fun with that and created so many that I felt obliged to incorporate a bit of it into this project. This particular card is using greens, yellow, and black as the three colors that the challenge directs so I made sure to have those on hand.

To start I took a piece of my previously marbled paper and after securing it to my work surface, I secured the Taylored Expressions Bird and Blooms, pictured left, over top of it. I then used black ink to stamp on the top of the paint. In this case, I used Distress Oxide in the color Soot.

The next step, once the ink was dry was to use my Hero Arts Heart Nesting die to cut out the background heart shape to the dimension I wanted. I then used a slightly larger size and cut out the accompanying black mat for visual interest and to complete the framed look. I adhered them both together and then attached them to a pre-cut white square card base which I had previously rounded the corners for some visual appeal.

To finish the card, I used the Simon Hurley Everyday Sentiments die set to cut out the sentiment in black and then its corresponding mat in a glitter yellow cardstock. I adhered both pieces together and for dimension, I mounted them to the card background panel using pop-dots.

I really hope that you are inspired to create something for yourself but if not then please go by and check out these two challenge blogs, something there might suit you better. It’s all about learning and growing.
