Falling for Wednesday Hop
Farmers Market
Good day, fellow crafters. Welcome to my Week 6 contribution for the Falling for Wednesday IG Hop, where our theme revolves around the enchanting world of “Farmers Market”. For this particular week, my creative spotlight is on Gourds. Gourds, known for their distinctive shapes and the warm, earthy hues of autumn, radiate a rustic allure that embodies the abundance of harvest season. Whether it's the inviting shades of orange, the earthy greens, or the unexpected elegance of white varieties, gourds stand as a testament to the splendid diversity found in nature. I hope you enjoy.
To create this cute card I gathered some with some white cardstock, black pigment ink, my colored pencils, and the Heartfelt Gourds stamp set for Newton’s Nook Designs. I first aligned my paper in my Misti stamping tool, inked up the stamp, and then stamped out the heart-shaped gourd design. The reason I chose to use my Misti is because I like to stamp my images at least twice with and even pressure placed on the stamp to make sure I have a clean and neat transfer of the image. Once that was complete I used the colored pencil set to color in the gourds and the background. After that was completed I used the heart-shaped die from Gina K’s Master Layouts 4 to cut out my finished focal image.
The next step was to use my scoring board and create the card base. Typically I like to use a white card base for my cards unless I am trying to carry a theme. This time, however, since our theme is farmers market I chose to use a cream-colored one because it reminded me of the cream I have seen for sale at such places. I did make this a standard A2 size so it would fit in envelopes that I have already created though so I could mail it out.
Once the card base was completed I temporarily positioned my focal point so I could stamp the sentiment, which came from the same Heartfelt Gourds stamp set and used the same black ink. I then colored and then shaded the word Harvest in some gourd-inspired colors. After that was completed I added foam tape to the back of my gourd heart to give it some height and adhered it in place on the card base. To complete the card I used some Kat Scrapiness Orange Creamscile flat-backed pearls for an accent. With that it was finished.
