Beautiful Details
Good day fellow crafters. Today I am exploring the use of vellum and how it plays with muting the colors and its interactions with inks, watercolors, colored pencils, embossing powders, and more importantly added heat. I hope that you enjoy it.
To make this card, I started with a sheet of vellum, placing the non-waxy side up. Using the Forever in Love stamp from Altenew and VersaMark's clear ink, I stamped the image and applied clear embossing powder before setting it with a heat gun. Then, I turned over the vellum and outlined the image using Prism Color pencils, colored it in with Copic Markers, and highlighted it with colored pencils.
To create the focal point's shape, I used the Honey Bee Double Stitched Polygons die set to cut out the stamped and colored image and a piece of Black cardstock to be used as the card's mat. I attached the image to the mat and then to a pre-cut A2 White card base.
For additional detail, I used Altenew's metallic Gold watercolor to create a splatter effect and added 4mm Flat back gems from The Paper Studio that I found at Hobby Lobby.
To create the sentiment, I used the smaller Polygon die to cut out the shape and stamped it with clear ink before applying Gold embossing powder and heat set it. Finally, I highlighted the sentiment with a White gel pen.
