Autumn Greetings
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you my interpretation of the design kit included in the My Monthly Hero Arts subscription for September 2023. I hope you enjoy.
My Monthly Hero Arts - September 2023
To create the background for this card I began with some white Hammermill cardstock and the supplies provided in the MMH kit for September 2023, featured left. As you can see in the illustration the focal point of this card is created using a three-step layering stencil process. Using the inks provided as well as some additional deeper tones along with greens from my collection I then used each of the layers to create the Autumn wreath. When completed this was set aside to dry.
Next, the included die was used to cut the image from the cardstock. Then using the included yellow ink I was able to ink-blend the leftover white cardstock to a pleasing hue. This was also set aside to dry.
The next stage was assembly. I first trimmed a kraft-colored cardstock mat to its final dimensions and with double-sided tape adhered it to a pre-cut and folded white A2 card base. I then added double-sided tape to the back of the yellow cardstock and adhered the two pieces together. Here is the magic for this card. I then took the die-cut shape, minus the center, and fit the wreath back into the position it was removed from, like solving a puzzle. This left an opening in the center with which I stamped my sentiment with stamps from the set. Lastly, to give it some extra visual appeal I used the included white lacquer pen to give the mushrooms some characteristic spots. With that, I called the card complete.
