Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thinking of You
Good day, fellow crafters. Today I present to you a creation for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge that I just completed. In the quiet moments of life, when words sometimes fail to convey the depth of our feelings, a simple gesture can speak volumes. Sending a "Thinking of You" card transcends distance, reminding us of the connections that bind us together. In the gentle curve of the inked letters and the texture of the paper, there lies a profound sentiment, a warm embrace expressed through thoughtful words. A"Thinking of You" card is more than just a piece of paper; they are a vessel of empathy, carrying your sentiments across the miles, letting someone know they are cherished and remembered. In a world that often moves too swiftly, these cards serve as reminders of the enduring strength of human connection, bringing solace and a comforting embrace to those who receive them. I hope you enjoy my submission.
To create the background panel for this card I began with a piece of white Hammermill cardstock, Gina K ink progressing from lightest to darkest in the colors Bubblegum Pink, Dusty Rose, and Passionate Pink, along with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Flowers stamp set (featured left), some clear embossing ink, and finally some clear embossing powder. The technique that I am using is one that might be a little hard to see in the photo, but the end result is reminiscent of a layered stamp.
The following is a list of the steps I followed so that you can follow along if you want to replicate the card. Pro-Tip - the Misti Stamping Tool is your friend.
Steps
Using the flower stamp align your stamp, I used my Misti.
Ink the stamp with clear embossing ink.
Stamp the image.
Apply clear embossing powder and heat set.
Ink the stamp with your lightest color.
Stamp the image.
Repeat steps 2 - 4
Repeat steps 5-7 with other colors.
Once all the colors were applied and the heat setting was completed I used an ink-blending brush along with the Passionate Pink ink until I got the hue that I was looking to achieve. I then trimmed the panel down to its final dimensions and adhered it to a black mat that I cut with a shaped die from my collection. I then adhered the composite to a pink card base.
The last step was to use the Simon Says Stamp XL Greetings 2 Stamp and die set, featured above right, to cut out the sentiment and shadow from black and pink cardstock. I then adhered the sentiment to the card base and called the card complete.
