My Favorite Things Color Challenge #207

Pretty in Pink and Blue

Below is my entry into this weeks My Favorite Things Color Challenge. The thing I liked about this challenge is that I could take the exact same materials and use them in different combinations for completely different looks. I hope you enjoy.

To make these cards I started with 110lb white card stock on which I stamped the flower and vase image from the MFT Gathered with Love stamp set in Memento’s London Fog. To that, I used Gina K’s Fine Detail Silver embossing powder and set it with my heat gun. For the border I used the MFT rectangular double stitch die cut set.

My choice for medium for coloring in the stamp on this challenge was to use a light watercolor wash instead of heavier inks or dyes. To me, pinks and blues remind me of babies and if it is for babies then it should be light and airy which I feel is the way these turned out. As Emeril Lagasse would say, to kick it up a notch….BAM!!…I used Ranger’s Glossy Accents over the mason jar vase to give the illusion that it was filled with water for the flowers.
