Memorial Day Scene Building Card

Good day fellow crafters. May I present my Memorial Day card. This is also a card that I am working on for building scenes. Here is my story for this card. I hope you enjoy it.

The soldier knelt before the cross, his head bowed in solemn reverence. The air was heavy with the weight of loss, as the flag above the cross fluttered gently in the breeze. Rows of identical crosses lined the field, each one representing a fallen comrade who had given their all for their country. He thought of his fallen friend, remembering the moments they shared together, the laughs they had, and the hardships they overcame. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he reached out to touch the helmet, feeling the weight of the sacrifice that had been made. For a moment, time seemed to stand still, the only thing that existed was the memory of the fallen friend. As he rose to his feet, he saluted the cross, silently promising to honor the memory of his friend and all those who had given their lives for their country.

Using the Stars and Stripes Forever stencil from Honey Bee Stamps, I started by applying Ranger's Distress Oxide in Lumberjack Plaid and dark Blue to the background, creating a striking and patriotic design.

Next, I used a die from my collection to cut out the image of a soldier kneeling before a cross. I carefully adhered the cut-out onto the background and then matted the card with a Black cardstock mat.

The finished product is simple yet powerful, capturing the essence of the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served their country. This card is a beautiful tribute to their service and a reminder of the debt of gratitude we owe to all those who have given their lives for our freedom.
