Allsorts Challenge Blog #732
Birthdays
Good day, fellow crafters. I am thrilled to share with you my card entry for the Allsorts Challenge blog #732. The theme this time is Birthdays, which to be honest I never seem to have enough of on hand so it was perfect timing to get this challenge. In this submission, I am utilizing some of the alcohol ink-covered Yupo paper that I created while making my Hero Arts post on June 11th, which I encourage you to check out, so as not to waste the ink. If you want to know more about how I created them check out that post, especially my cautionary tale about staining. Regardless of when they were created, I had a lot of fun making them, especially watching the colors blend.
If you're passionate about card making or simply love to immerse yourself in artistic endeavors, I highly encourage you to participate in this contest. Don't forget to click the link below the banner to join in and tag me when you enter, so I can cheer you on and appreciate your creativity. If you have any questions or comments leave them below and I will be sure to try and answer them the best I can. Let's embark on this creative journey together!
The creation of this card was very straightforward. As I mentioned above I am utilizing some alcohol ink-infused Yupo paper that I created as a result of wishing not to waste any of the inks left on my silicone mat when I made the background for the project I was working on. I hate waste and you never know when they will come in handy.
To begin I chose the sheet I was most fond of from the ones that were made from the left overs and then used a rounded corner rectangular die to cut the background, the black mat I chose for its visual appeal when combined with the background, and to cut the light gray square card base. I then adhered all of the pieces and set them aside.
The next step was to use the My Favorite Things In Stitches Alphabet die (MFT-1999) to cut out the required letters for the sentiment. The recipient is a very masculine, elderly family member who I know will love the color combinations which I am confident will definitely suit him well.
I hope that this card creation has inspired you to explore creative ways to utilize materials and avoid wastefulness. I encourage you to tag me in your own creative endeavors and leave a comment on this page to share your thoughts and experiences
