Theme Parks
Good day, fellow crafters. Welcome to the magical world of theme parks, where dreams come true and excitement awaits at every turn! Whether you're a fan of thrilling rides, delicious treats, or simply immersing yourself in a world of fantasy and adventure, this card is the perfect way to showcase your love of all things theme parks. So come along for the ride and discover the magic for yourself! I hope you enjoy it.
I have always had a deep love for amusement parks, and none more so than the magical world of Disney. Growing up, my family and I would often make trips to Disney, and each visit was filled with wonder, excitement, and countless unforgettable memories. The joy and enchantment of these experiences have stayed with me throughout my life, inspiring me to create this incredible rainbow-foiled Mickey Mouse head card. It is my hope that this card captures the magic and whimsy of the amusement park experience, and brings a smile to the faces of all who share in my love for these incredible destinations.
To create a foiled card using the Gemini Foil Machine, I first gathered all the necessary supplies including Rainbow heat set foil, black cardstock, an embossing machine, an A5 size Mickey Head foil plate from The Sassy Club, and of course, the Gemini Foil Machine itself. After plugging in the machine and turning it on to preheat, I cut the foil to size and aligned the embossing plate while waiting for the light to turn green.
Once the machine was preheated, I placed the embossing plate onto it and added the foil, making sure to place the pretty side down. Then, I carefully placed the black cardstock on top of the foil and added the top shim. With the timer set for 15 seconds, I allowed the foil to heat to the right temperature to adhere to the cardstock. It was important to note not to add any extra shims as the pressure was already sufficient without them.
Next, I added the required pressure by running the cardstock and foil sandwich through my embossing machine. Once that was done, I removed the top plate and carefully extracted the cardstock from the embossing plate. Finally, I gently removed any excess foil to reveal the beautifully foiled Mickey Head design on the black background.
The next part of the process was to cut the background, a Red foiled cardstock mat, and a pre-cut Black A2 card base to the size and shape I wanted with my Hero Arts Rounded Rectangular Infinity Dies (D1465) and adhere them all together. The Red foiled cards stock really made the foiled Mickey's heads pop,
The last step of the whole process was to create the sentiment for the card. Since Disney was always a magical place for me I felt that nothing else could sum up the feelings created by this card. So I grabbed my Simon Says Stamp Magical Word die set (SSSD112400) and cut it out in colors that are very familiar ones if you have ever been in the park. I then adhered it to the card with some pop dots for a final bit of dimension.
The process of creating this card was both enjoyable and fulfilling, as it allowed me to combine my passion for amusement parks with my love for crafting. As I finished this project, I couldn't help but reflect on the many happy memories I have shared with my loved ones at Disney and other theme parks. It is my sincere hope that this card brings a bit of that magic into the lives of those who receive it, and serves as a reminder of the joy and wonder that amusement parks can bring.
